Map Collections
Mapiry collections group existing public maps into curated public pages.
Where to Find Them
Use these routes to browse collections:
/collectionsfor the collection index/c/<slug>for an individual collection page
What They Are
Collections are editorial wrappers around existing public maps.
They are useful when you want to:
- group related maps into a single browseable page
- add collection-level title, subtitle, description, and CTA copy
- keep public discovery pages focused on a specific theme or use case
How They Work
Collections only link to existing public maps. They do not duplicate map data.
When a collection groups items:
- a region label is used when one exists
- if no region label is provided, the page falls back to the map's country
That fallback keeps collection sections readable even when curation data is sparse.
What They Are Not
Collections are not:
- liked-map folders
- a full page builder
- a copy of the underlying maps
- an automatic content generator
Current Model
The current collection model keeps publishing and namespace control on the Mapiry side.
- collections remain public only when published
- public pages render crawlable text and structured data
- reserved names stay Mapiry-controlled
